Local by default
First name, school, budget, living situation, dietary information, allergies, equipment, lists, and saved items remain in browser storage by default.
Not used for advertising
EFF Essentials does not sell local plan data, use it for advertising, or send it to third-party AI services.
Intentional server actions
Information reaches the server only when you intentionally submit a correction/resource or select content for an anonymous share. The share excludes your name by default.
Location
Location is never requested on page load. When you choose it, precise coordinates are used for the immediate search and are not retained or sent to analytics.
